submitted by Jamie Johnson

Spring is in the air, and now is a great time to venture out and do some shopping. A refresh on your wardrobe or a new décor item for your home could be just what you need to welcome spring. Our plans for bringing you our next event, JUNK’tion Market are well under way. You will want to make sure that you mark your calendar for this event. Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will again be held at the beautiful L&N Depot in downtown Bowling Green.

This shopping event is sponsored by Kenzie Parker Boutique and The Funky Flamingo. Kenzie Parker Boutique, located in downtown Franklin, Ky., offers trendy tunics in a variety of solids and prints along with cardigans and kimonos. They also stock rustic and vintage inspired home décor. The Funky Flamingo Boutique, located in downtown Bowling Green, offers a great selection of women’s clothing and jewelry. They also carry funky junk and host an interior design studio.

We have absolutely awesome vendors that will be taking part in this one-of-a-kind vintage, arts, and eclectic junk market. Since organizers are committed to featuring unique and creative area vendors, attendees are sure to find something they love.

From all things rustic, vintage and handmade, you are sure to find that perfect vintage item, a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture, handmade jewelry, or one of hundreds of other amazing treasures for your home or garden. You can also look forward to an infinite amount of design inspiration from our handpicked vendors!

Last fall’s gathering of merchants, crafts people and artisans drew a seven-hour flow of shoppers who strolled in sun and shade to visit more than 50 booths set up by vendors from across Southern Kentucky and Northern Tennessee.

Booth vendors, many of whom are returning from past years, are promising household items, essential oils, vintage objects, collectibles, jewelry, bags, purses and woodcrafts, beauty and bath goods, skin care products, artwork, pottery, craft supplies, home decor, bows, farmhouse wares as well as yard and garden objects.

JUNK’tion Market is a fundraising endeavor for the museum’s programs and exhibits, supported through the attending vendors. The Historic RailPark & Train Museum is a nonprofit and relies on the support of donors and events like JUNK’tion Market to enable us to continue our mission to tell the story of passenger train travel.

We do have limited vendor space available, and if you have a unique product you would like to showcase at our market, we would love to meet you. Applications can be picked up at the Historic RailPark & Train Museum. For more information call Kirsten at  270-745-7317 or email her at events@historicrailpark.com. Admission is free and entry will be available through the front doors of the L&N Depot.
