Summer is winding down, but we are going to crank up the music in downtown Franklin, Kentucky for the 2nd Annual Summer Vibes Music Festival on Saturday, August 27th.
The event kicks off at 1pm with seven area songwriters sharing their stories and music on the big stage.
Music lovers of all genres will find something they love at this festival.
Nashville-based Jive Talk will hit the stage at 3pm. This band has created its own unique sound with strong influences from the groove of the 70s and peppiness of the retro 80s.
If you are ready to rock, then Gravel Switch is your band. Based out of Jamestown, Kentucky, this band knows its way around a stage. Gravel Switch will bring the party with their rock ballads and guitar riffs.
Straight out of bourbon country, Kaleb Cecil will bring his band to Franklin from the Bardstown area. Cecil is a high-energy country rocker who plays across the state as well as venues in Nashville.
You know it is going to be a “Good Day” when Nappy Roots is in the house! This world-renowned band will bring its alternative southern rap to downtown Franklin with some of your all-time favorites, “Awnaw,” “Po’ Folks” and “Good Day” just to name a few. Don’t miss your chance to see Nappy Roots for free!
The night will wind down with the vocals of alternative country and Americana artist Rayland Baxter. This Nashville-based artist has travelled the world entertaining crowds with his smooth, storytelling songs. An ATO artist, Baxter will sing you into the final week of summer with a smile.
Beer garden and food trucks will open at noon, with the songwriters on stage at 1pm. There is no admission to the festival, which is being presented by Simpson County Tourism Commission and Franklin-Simpson Renaissance.
