Franklin-Simpson Renaissance 2021 Summer Nights Concert Series

Summer is here and our 2021 Summer Nights Concert series has begun. Summertime in Franklin means free live concerts on Friday nights in June, July and August in our beautiful Downtown Historic District. Our concerts are in a family-friendly environment, so bring your lawn chairs or blankets and sit under the stars to watch some of the hottest bands around. We bring country, classic rock, Motown and new country to our courthouse lawn bandstand, so you better bring your dancing shoes along. Come a little early and shop with our downtown merchants, then grab dinner at one of our downtown restaurants. If you do not make it down early enough, food vendors will be on the square during the concert with a variety of food items and sweet treats. Our Summer Nights Concerts are presented by Franklin-Simpson Renaissance and sponsored by Franklin Bank & Trust and Simpson County Tourism. “Our beautiful downtown Courtyard comes to life in the summer to host a variety of events, most all of them free. Franklin’s downtown merchants offer such a wide variety of merchandise, so it is worth it to come a little early and visit some of our shops,” said Kim Roberts, Executive Director of Franklin-Simpson Renaissance.

The concerts start at 7pm and wrap up around 9pm. Lawn chair rentals are available each concert night. The rest of the band schedule for 2021 is Jimmy Church on July 16, Andy and The Rockers on July 30, Sidewinders on August 13 and Tyrone Dunn & Kin-Foke on August 27.

There are several events planned to coincide with the concerts schedule this summer. The F-S Chamber of Commerce will host the Garden Spot ½ Mile Kids Run on August 13 before the Sidewinders play. The run is a kickoff event for the Garden Spot 5K Run on Saturday morning, August 14. The downtown merchants will be having a Fall Crawl event on August 27 before the concert that night. Tyrone Dunn will begin the wind-down of the season on Friday night August 27, then the next morning, the inaugural Summer Vibes Music Festival will finish out the 2021 season with eight of some of the hottest bands including The Josephines.

“Franklin is a really cool town that knows how to put on events. We take pride in our historic downtown district and look forward each year to planning new things for our community to enjoy. It’s time to live again and to enjoy the things that bring us back together, such as our free community events,” said Mrs. Roberts.
