Celebrate the holiday season at historic Riverview at Hobson Grove

Riverview at Hobson Grove Historic House Museum welcomes you to an elegant holiday season celebration! As part of the week-long Light Up BGKY festivities, make plans to join us Wednesday, November 29, 10am-6pm for our Christmas Marketplace. Browse a selection of clothing, jewelry, home décor, art, and seasonal arrangements offered by vendors stationed throughout the beautifully decorated mansion. Don’t forget to check out Riverview’s gift shop and bake sale in the basement. Many of our previous vendors are returning this year and George Anna McKenzie, a descendant of the Hobson family, will be signing copies of her cookbook, “Company’s Comin,” available for purchase in our meeting room. Admission is free. Please note that all vendor spaces are full.

On Saturday, December 9, 4:30pm-7:30pm, you are invited to learn about a traditional Victorian Christmas celebration as you move throughout the old Hobson House, beautifully lit by candles and antique lamps. Our costumed docents will take you back in time as they explain the holiday traditions that would have taken place in each room. Our gift shop will be open and refreshments will be served in our meeting room. Parking will be available at the ball field and the new Bowling Green Trolley will shuttle visitors to the mansion. Donations appreciated.

There is still time to take advantage of our regularly scheduled tours before we close for the winter. Tours are given on the hour, Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-3pm and Sunday, 1pm-3pm. Our museum will close after the Candlelight Tour on December 9, reopening Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
