Spring cleaning offers a fantastic chance to declutter while making a positive impact by donating to Habitat for Humanity ReStore. By sorting through your closets, garages, and storage areas, you can contribute gently-used items that will be prepared for sale, helping to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity.
The “Keep, Toss, Donate” Method
Getting started can often be the hardest part. To simplify the process, use three large bins or boxes labeled Keep, Toss, and Donate.
•Keep: Items that are essential and have been used within the past 6-12 months.
•Toss: Items that are beyond repair or no longer usable.
•Donate: Functional items in good condition that you no longer need. This includes gently-used clothing, countertop appliances, home decor, tools, kitchenware, pots and pans, dish sets, children’s toys, and furniture.
Tips for Success:
•Start Small: Concentrate on one room or corner at a time to prevent feeling overwhelmed.
•Add a “Maybe” Box: If you find it difficult to make decisions, place items in a “maybe” box, seal it, and set a two-week deadline to revisit your choices.
•Take Action: Promptly dispose of trash and arrange for a donation pickup to ensure that items leave your home.
Items that easily fit in your vehicle can be dropped off during business hours: Tuesday to Friday from 9am-5pm and Saturday from 9am-4pm.
For larger items or multiple donations, let us handle the heavy lifting! Our trained staff services all of Warren County. Just ensure the items are on the ground floor and “move ready,” boxed or bagged and prepared for pickup.
We are conveniently located in the heart of downtown Bowling Green, Kentucky, in the old Daily News warehouse, directly across from the Hot Rods Stadium.
