As summer approaches, families across South Central Kentucky begin asking the same question: “What are we going to do this summer?” The 21st Annual Summer Activities Fair is here to make that answer easy.
Hosted by Community Education, BGISD, and WCPS, the Summer Activities Fair returns to BG Ballpark on April 21 from 5pm-6:30pm (rain date April 23), bringing together a wide variety of local camps, programs, and youth-focused organizations, all in one convenient location. The event is sponsored by Beech Bend & Splash Lagoon and WBKO.
Designed to simplify summer planning, the event connects families directly with the people and programs that make summer meaningful. Whether parents are searching for academic camps, arts and music programs, athletic leagues, childcare options, enrichment classes, or job opportunities for teens, the Summer Activities Fair offers something for every age and interest.
Already confirmed for this year’s Fair are programs including arts camp, bike safety, aerospace and STEM camps, music classes, a planes, trains, and automobiles camp, Soap Box Derby opportunities, puppetry camp, and many more. From hands-on creativity to high-energy outdoor activities and career exploration, families will be able to explore a wide range of opportunities that match their child’s interests and summer goals.
Last year’s fair welcomed approximately 400 attendees and featured 20 community vendors. This year, organizers anticipate even greater participation, with more programs and resources available to families throughout the region.
Beyond helping families plan their schedules, the Fair creates a space where the community comes together with a shared goal: giving young people a summer filled with growth, discovery, and fun. It’s a reminder that right here in South Central Kentucky, opportunities for creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning are closer than many families realize. By bringing local programs together in one place, the Fair makes summer planning simple, accessible, and exciting for families across the region.
The Summer Activities Fair also highlights the strength of the Bowling Green community. By bringing together nonprofits, schools, local businesses, and service organizations, the event showcases the wide range of opportunities available to keep students engaged, learning, and active throughout the summer months.
Admission is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to stop by, explore, and start planning their best summer yet.
