Historic Railpark & Train Museum Railpark Rendezvous Fire & Ice

Hot Night!

What better way to celebrate than toasting amongst your friends in a sophisticated cocktail hour? To ignite the Rendezvous, we will be kicking off with a cocktail hour that includes wine, beer, spirits, AND two specialty cocktails also themed for “Fire & Ice.” These signature drinks will include a fiery aperitif and a boozy, icy beverage. In addition to our specialty drinks, we are thrilled to have some Kentucky beer at our event as well as great Bourbon! Red and white wines will also be available for our wine drinkers… but we suggest going ahead and marking the second Saturday of July 2024 for our BG Wine Fest, too! Now, don’t freeze up on us yet! The beverages are just the tip of the ICEberg, with Rendezvous bringing so much more heat!

An evening wouldn’t be perfect without a fantastic dinner to accompany the beverage selection! For the 2023 Rendezvous dinner, RSF – Your Bluegrass Kitchen will be serving a buffet-style dinner with various selections of entrees and sides suitable for all attendees’ preferences. While enjoying your dinner, you can also feast your eyes on an impressive performance by Beyond Wings Nashville. The performers will act as live entertainment by performing fire and ice tricks! Expect the performers to show incredible talent as they do acts involving dangerous elements effortlessly. Nothing will be cooler than witnessing this imaginative entertainment put on by fire dancers, showmen, and more! Being the audience for individuals performing these wondrous acts is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we cannot wait to experience it with you.

Another activity we will have available at the Rendezvous is the silent auction. But an element of this year’s Rendezvous we are especially stoked about is the wine pull! We like to think of our wine pull as a “wine roulette,” where you pay a flat amount and have the opportunity to pull from our wine collection a bottle of mystery value. This is an activity we are bringing back from the previous Rendezvous, as it was a huge hit! With the wine pull, which is sometimes referred to as a “cork pull,” anyone who enters has the chance of receiving a high-end bottle of wine much more valuable than the price they originally paid. Even if you participate without the intention of gambling for a luxury wine, this is a great opportunity to try something new!

Why is this Cool?

All these events are HOT… but at the end of the day, a super cool evening isn’t what the RailPark Rendezvous is all about. The Rendezvous is an event we put on to fundraise for many different aspects of the Historic RailPark & Train Museum. Our goal is to fully restore all eight vintage railcars that are a part of the museum as an educational feature of Southern Kentucky. Regarding our railcar restoration efforts, some of the projects we are focused on are Phase Two of restoring the Hospital Car, Phase Two of restoring the #109 Segregated Passenger Car, and restoration of the L&N Caboose.
