Help Hospice of Southern Kentucky care for terminally ill patients

Our mission at Hospice of Southern Kentucky is to “Honor Life through Exceptional Service and

Compassionate Care.” A terminal diagnosis is never easy to accept, but having a specialized medical team consisting of physicians, nurses, home health aides, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers to coordinate care 24/7 (even on the weekends) is comforting, and the care is empowering!

The most frequent feedback from individuals and families is that they wish they had elected hospice sooner. The goal of hospice is to ensure that the individual is physically and emotionally comfortable. To continue our mission of honoring life in hospice care, we rely on revenue raised through our Lotus Award Gala to support what Hospice of Southern Kentucky provides to those in need annually.

Hospice of Southern Kentucky is thrilled to bring you the 2023 Lotus Awards “A Red Tie Gala” on September 23rd at the Knicely Center, where we will celebrate the programs and services offered through Hospice of Southern Kentucky but also to honor an extraordinary couple throughout the community doing incredible things to make South Central Kentucky a better place to live and work. With this award, we showcase excellence in leadership as demonstrated by outstanding initiative, the impact of work, and inspiration to others.

This year’s Lotus Award recipients are Dixie & the late Pete Mahurin. They have been an integral part of the community, and through the work in their careers and philanthropy, they have made Bowling Green and beyond a better place. If you talk to anyone who knows them, they will tell you how special they are. Hospice of Southern Kentucky is grateful for The Mahurins’ advocacy for our organization over the years and is proud to celebrate them with the Lotus Award this year.

The Lotus Award Gala will begin with a reception at 6pm, followed by dinner and the program, including a live and silent auction to benefit the programs and services offered through Hospice of Southern Kentucky, followed by live music and a good time!

This elegant evening is a Red Tie optional affair and the fall event you don’t want to miss!
