Close out the summer in style with Summer Vibes Music Fest in Franklin

There will be one heck of a party to close out the summer in downtown Franklin, Kentucky on Aug. 28.

The free event will be held in the Historic Downtown District on the courthouse lawn with several streets being shut down for vendors. The inaugural Summer Vibes Music Fest will begin at noon with a
Songwriters Showcase. Bands will begin playing at 2pm and music will continue until around 11pm. A variety of bands ranging from the teen sister duo of Girl Tones and singer/songwriter Jeffrey East, to the hottest rising rock band, The Josephines, will be on stage throughout the event.

Downtown shops and restaurants will be open throughout the day and several food trucks will be on site.

Franklin’s already cool public art installations will have the addition of an interactive selfie experience – where you can “escape down the rabbit hole” and find a variety of photo ops that will blow up your social media posts.

A beer garden – including bourbon from Franklin’s own Dueling Grounds Distillery – will be on hand for those 21 years old and over. In addition, several interactive art booths including face painting and tie-dye will be set up. Other vendor booths will include everything from handmade paper jewelry, soap, watercolor prints, sugar scrubs, leather hair ties and gourmet sauces and rubs… just to name a few. “Bringing live music to downtown isn’t new for Franklin, but bringing this type of music to Franklin is something we haven’t done before.” said Kim Roberts, Executive Director of Franklin-Simpson Renaissance.

Thunder Sound… the amazing recording studio nestled on 100 acres of farmland in Simpson County, will bring in a 33’x24’ covered stage for the performances and handle all the production, along with Harlin Technical. The stage will sit in the middle of the city street. “By utilizing the talent of our local recording studio, tech company and their unbelievable staff, this concert will be a step up from events we have been able to host in past years.” said F-S Tourism Executive Director Amy Ellis. “We can’t thank them enough for the generous donations they have made to ensure that this first year will be a success.”
