Experience beautiful art from local area artists in Franklin RESCHEDULED for 2/1 @ 5:30pm

Watercolors, oils, acrylics, drawings, pottery, jewelry, photography, stained glass, woodcrafts, sculptures, textiles, metal works, and many other fine arts and crafts can be found at the Gallery on the Square.

Located in the heart of downtown Franklin at 110 North Main Street, the Gallery sits directly across from the Simpson County Courthouse. The Gallery is dedicated to providing Simpson County and neighboring communities with an outlet to visual arts by displaying the works of fine artists and craftsmen from Kentucky and Tennessee.

Six current exhibits are held throughout the year featuring specific artists. Each show is on display approximately two months. All shows are free and open to the public. There is never an admission to visit the Gallery.

The Gallery is operated by the Simpson County Guild of Artists and Craftsmen. One of the main goals of the Guild is education of the visual arts. Every week we provide free children’s art education programs. On a monthly basis we host adult art education programs. We are expanding our reach for art education to individuals with specialized needs.

The Gallery on the Square has been a focal point for visual arts in Simpson County and the surrounding area for nearly 32 years. The vision of the founding members was to have a place to display, promote, and sell local art and serve as a foundation for art education. We serve our community through this founding mission.

Some of our highlights from 2023 include:

•Expanded the diversity content of our exhibits

•Established a successful program for our senior community focusing on gross and fine motor skills through art

•Developed plans for summer camp programs for adults and youth, to be unveiled in 2024

•Supported staff’s professional development enabling each to expand and enhance programs for the public

•Displayed, promoted, and sold the handmade works of Kentucky and Tennessee artists and craftsmen

Although we are a growing guild of 84 active artists, we also offer many Kentucky Crafted items and are a proud member of Kentucky Arts Council. We celebrate and promote #kyarts. We would love for you to stop by, if just to admire and feel a sense of peace among the beautiful art from our local Kentucky and Tennessee artists.
