Shine Bright Hospice of Southern Kentucky

As we enter into the 10th month of 2020, what was supposed to be an iconic year, we could all use a bit of sunshine. This is where Hospice professionals come in handy, as we are experts in finding the rainbow after the rain. A referral to Hospice can be overwhelming, but Hospice is all about living. There are no more interruptive and exhausting trips to the hospital, pain is controlled, and the focus is on quality of life. We often meet families at the most vulnerable time in their lives so we make it a priority to help take care of as much as we can.

Hospice of Southern Kentucky strongly believes there is much life to be lived while receiving Hospice services. All medications, equipment and supplies are delivered to the patient’s home, volunteer help is available throughout our service area, and we are available 24/7 if a problem arises – even weekends and holidays! The Hospice House, the first of its kind in the region, located in Bowling Green, KY, is available for patients to control symptoms that are not adequately controlled at home. Instead of hospitalization, patients who experience symptoms like shortness of breath, severe anxiety or pain, or restlessness can be stabilized in a warm, cozy environment that allows family to be with them 24 hours a day until the patient is stabilized to return home.

Hospice of Southern Kentucky needs your support now more than ever. With the COVID-19 pandemic casting clouds over our community, we want to bring the rainbow. Our focus for the Shine Bright campaign is to raise funds to ensure our patients are connected to the resources they need at the end of life, while also giving you the opportunity to receive or send a rainbow! Do you have someone in mind who could really use a rainbow? Here’s how you can help!

We are asking the South Central Kentucky community to come together in support of Hospice of Southern Kentucky with a 100% tax-deductible donation. Coming up in November, sun catchers will be available for purchase at $30 each. You can purchase a sun catcher for yourself, a friend, a loved one, or purchase one to be delivered to a Hospice patient. Tribute options are also available, so you can purchase a sun catcher in memory or in honor of a loved one, friend, Hospice team member, or caregiver. The recipient of your tribute sun catcher will receive their gift along with an uplifting message, or a personal message from you!

Purchasing a sun catcher for yourself or someone else sends a rainbow without the rain. The generous support of our donors touches the lives of over 400 patients and families each year. Your support of Shine Bright Hospice of Southern Kentucky will ensure families are connected to the resources they need at the end of life.
