Breaking The Silence: Turning Grief Into Joy

Meet Jessica and Josh Heffinger, founders of a non-profit organization in SOKY. Their “why” to starting Glory Baby Ministry dates back to 2010 when their daughter, Riley Marie, was stillborn at 21 weeks gestation. She came into this world small (weighing 1lb. 2oz.), but she is moving mountains today. You can read their full testimony by visiting glorybabyministry.org

Glory Baby Ministry specializes in making burial gowns or memorial packages for parents grieving a miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss. The ministry serves families of four weeks gestation losses to full-term losses. What started as being a “local only” organization has turned into a nationwide impact. Packages have been sent out to 12+ states, with that number growing monthly. They provide services to families that have an immediate need as well as families whose loss was years ago. Bringing just a little comfort to a family grieving the loss of their baby is the ministry’s mission.

It is more than just a package of items the parents receive. It is filled with memories, comfort and love. Packages are sent out FREE of charge, this includes expedited shipping costs of $65-$85 to overnight ONE burial gown package.

MAKE AN IMPACT

Volunteers make tiny hats, bracelets, ornaments, blankets and burial gowns for families grieving the loss of their baby. If you have skills in sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, fundraising, grant writing, etc., the ministry could use YOU! Most volunteer positions can be done in the comfort of your home and you do NOT have to be local.

Another way you can help is by attending our fundraising events, giving monetarily and shopping our Amazon wishlist.

The biggest impact you can make is to PRAY. Be in prayer for the ministry, our volunteers and the families we have and will serve. Help by telling others about Glory Baby Ministry.
