Fairy Garden Tour celebrates 10th anniversary!

Mark your calendar and invite a friend or relative to go to the annual Fairy Garden Tour sponsored by the Bowling Green Garden Club. This year’s tour will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019, from 1 to 4 p.m. and will take place in the Covington Street area. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and can be purchased from any of the 55 Bowling Green Garden Club members or at any of the gardens on June 2. Garden Club members will be hosting at each of the gardens as they have done every year. And yes, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary!

A highlight of the Fairy Garden event is from 3 to 5 p.m. when participants may go to the lovely garden of Dr. Beth Curtis at 821 Rockwood Drive for refreshments and activities. Children will be entertained by a special book reading by a Garden Club member and will also be able to build a miniature fairy garden to take home. Supplies will be furnished by the Club, and members will be available to help with the project.

The Fairy Garden Tour is just one of the activities planned for National Garden Club Week. The Bowling Green Garden Club has activities planned for each day of this week with the Fairy Garden Tour kicking off the week, followed by a free flower show on Wednesday, June 5, at the L&N Depot. The show will feature beautiful arrangements and plants with the theme “Under the Big Top.” The public may visit the show from 1 to 7 p.m. on June 5.

If you are interested in knowing more about Garden Club membership, please call 270-842-3416. The Bowling Green Garden Club meets the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at the Houchens Center, 1113 Adams Street.
We look forward to seeing you during National Garden Club Week! We are excited about hosting these activities and providing a fun-filled afternoon for families and an opportunity to see eight beautiful gardens in our community.  The flower show at the Depot will be a wonderful display of vibrant colors and arrangements, highlighting the natural beauty of both flowers and greenery. Do plan to attend!
