Brunch with the Bunny: Brunch, story time, crafts & egg hunt at Historic RailPark & Train Museum

by Jamie S. Johnson

Start a new family tradition! Join us to celebrate Easter with our 4th Annual Brunch with The Bunny event. The Easter Bunny himself will be joining us onboard our vintage Duncan Hines Dining Car Saturday March 31. We are offering a morning brunch at 9 a.m. and an afternoon brunch at noon.

We are super EGGCITED to continue our partnership with Boyce General Store! This year’s menu will include scrambled eggs, hash brown casserole, bacon, cinnamon rolls and a biscuit and jelly bar. We will also offer lemonade and Starbucks coffee. Brunch will be served in the L&N Depot grand lobby.

Thanks to our event sponsor, First Southern National Bank, during brunch the Easter Bunny will visit with children and pose for photos. Professional photographer Bill Dow of Thru The Lens Magic will once again offer portrait packages. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best Easter attire and bring their own camera for additional photos.

The Magical Tale of Easter Bunny Dust will come to life when read aloud on our restored Duncan Hines Dining Car. The story tells of two small children on a treasure hunt in the woods who come upon a yellow pouch and the most beautiful Easter egg they have ever seen. Sensing its magic, they decide to make one wish – to see the Easter Bunny. On their way home, the magical egg develops a crack which spills magical Easter Bunny Dust that leads the Easter Bunny to their door and to their sight. The book, written by Patricia Cardello, makes a great addition to your child’s home library and is available for purchase at the RailPark gift shop.

Children will have the opportunity to get crafty as they enjoy a variety of crafts. Volunteers will be onsite helping to guide craft activities and to make sure each child goes home with their own work of art.

BYOB, Bring Your Own Basket, for an EGGCITING finale! Our Easter Egg Hunt will have over 3,000 eggs with a variety of prizes. Several local businesses have donated prizes, coupons for free food items and much more to fill all the brightly colored eggs. The egg hunt will take place in the large grassy island in front of the L&N Depot. Children will be divided into separate age groups prior to the start of the egg hunt.

Don’t miss this opportunity for a fun family outing. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Adult ticket prices are $14.95 and child ticket prices are $8.95.
