The Butler County Arts Guild is having a banner year, beginning with winning the Governor’s Awards in the Arts “Community Arts” organization of the year. Since then, good things continue to happen! We are honored to announce that Michael Johnathon, world-renowned folk singer and creator of the WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour, is appearing at the Butler County Arts Guild on October 21. Michael will grace our stage at 7pm. This is an amazing opportunity to see him perform right in our own backyard!
The WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour show began in 1998 and is broadcast around the world. Michael is a proponent of the “Front Porch” way of performing, which means bringing friends, neighbors, families and strangers to come “sit a spell” and enjoy music and conversation together. In 2019, the Butler County Arts Guild was designated a WoodSongs Music Coffeehouse, bringing the front porch experience to South Central Kentucky. You can learn more about Michael at www.woodsongs.com and www.michaeljohnathon.com.
This is a ticketed event, but there is no cost for admission. Free tickets are available at the Eventbrite website here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/woodsongs-music-coffeehouse-starring-michael-johnathon-tickets-390419965627. Seating is limited, so get your ticket before they’re gone.
Along with our quarterly WoodSongs Music Coffeehouses, we also have open mic nights, concerts, an active writers’ group, art exhibits and more. Follow the Butler County Arts Guild on Facebook to keep up with our many activities.
Morgantown is a short drive north of Bowling Green, off of I-165. And it’s the place to be on October 21!
