Fashion Resolutions from Pappagallo

With the end of the year quickly approaching, I like to take a moment to look forward to the year ahead. Yes, it is once again time for our fashion resolutions! Most of us think about losing weight, eating healthy, getting organized, but what about what we wear every day? My favorite designer, Coco Chanel, said it best – “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we love, what is happening.” Remember, we get one chance to make a first impression – your attire speaks volumes.

Happy New Year from Pappagallo

Resolve to finally curate a functional, fashionable wardrobe that is always ready to go. Clothing that makes you feel chic, confident and put together from sunrise to sunset. Look for classic, elegant pieces with a few fun, trendy items thrown in.

Don’t save the best for last. Dress like every day is opening night. Don’t save your best clothes for a special occasion. No one is promised tomorrow – wear your “good” pearls to the grocery.

Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize. I cannot stress how important accessories are. They are truly the icing on the cake. Just adding one or two items can take you from ordinary to “Wow!” A statement necklace or beautiful scarf instantly transforms your wardrobe.

Lighten up. All-black attire is always chic, but the Pantone Institute named “cloud dancer” as the 2026 Color of the Year. The color is described as “a billowy white imbued with a feeling of serenity.” This will be perfect for monochromatic dressing, as well as pairing beautifully with all the bright colors for spring.

Stop sacrificing comfort. Remember the ABC of dressing – always be comfortable. For years women equated “dressing up” with discomfort – girdles and too-tight shoes. Today’s clothing moves with us and many shoe manufacturer’s make stylish, comfortable shoes.

Get fit. No, not at the gym (which is also a good resolution), but make sure your clothes fit properly. Get your pants hemmed, waists nipped in, & sleeves shortened. Tailoring is what takes your style to the next level.

In conclusion, I resolve to help all my customers look and feel their very best in 2026. Let’s make this our boldest, brightest, happiest year of fashion to-date. Wishing you and yours the happiest of New Years from your friends at Pappagallo.
