Village Manor celebrates Second Annual Nurturing Our Nurses Event!
We love our Bowling Green community and want to continue showing our appreciation to the nurses who work diligently to take care of us, so, on May 29th, we opened our doors to all nurses, new graduates, seasoned professionals, and those who have retired from the profession. The event was held from 9am to 5pm and “drop in” style, to allow as many to attend as possible. Nurses received free massages, manicures, tours, door prizes, great food, giveaways and so much more. The event was completely free to attend and open to all nurses, not just our staff at Village Manor!
Chris Minnich, Executive Director of Village Manor, said it best, “We could not function without nurses.” Because nurses are the backbone of care in our industry, we want to make certain they feel taken care of. Our team had one goal – that all the nurses who attended Nurturing Our Nurses would leave feeling appreciated, as well as pampered, both physically and mentally. This annual event is not only an opportunity to show appreciation to our healthcare heroes, but also to raise awareness about the importance of self-care in the demanding field of nursing. Nurses spend most of their day on their feet and use their talents and compassion selflessly for others. At Village Manor, we understand that nurses are just like us, and need a little helping hand every once and a while, too.
On the day of the event, Village Manor staff and volunteers were able to meet amazing community members and allowed them to put their feet up and take a breath. “It’s our opportunity to care for them a little bit,” said Sydney Daugherty, Community Sales Director at Village Manor. We truly believe even small gestures can send a very powerful message. “We see them, and we appreciate all their hard work,” Sydney Daugherty added.
The Village Manor team extends the invitation to you, and any nurses you know, to please join us again next year! This event will continue to be focused on caring for those who care so much for the rest of us.
