Bluebirds in your yard from Wild Bird and Nature Store

The first thing to know about bluebirds is to put food out. Bluebirds do not come to your usual bird feeders but will come to a feeder if you offer mealworms, fruit or bluebird nuggets.

Let Wild Bird and Nature Store help you lure the amazing bluebirds to your backyard.

Second is to put out bluebird boxes. The bluebird male will check out the houses and bring the female bluebird to see if she likes it. She’s very picky, but she usually begins to build their nest.

The female bluebird builds a very elegant nest. She will lay up to four eggs and after two weeks the young will hatch out. The young will usually leave in about two weeks. Bluebirds will have up to four broods in Spring and Summer. The young will leave the parents in the summer but the later young will stay thru the Winter.

Sometimes predators try to enter the nest, but you can attach a guard on your bluebird box to prevent this from happening.

Remember, they are the bluebird of happiness and wonderful to have in your yard.
