Every family deserves confidence. Every baby deserves the best possible start. That’s why The Medical Center at Bowling Green has invested in High Street Tower, a brand new, state-of-the-art facility thoughtfully designed with women, babies, and families at its heart. With two dedicated floors for Women’s and Children’s Services, Med Center Health is bringing advanced care, leading specialists, and compassionate support together under one roof so families can focus on what matters most.
The concept of High Street Tower came from listening to families and watching the area’s population growth. As a provider of obstetrical services and the region’s only Level III NICU, Med Center Health has a unique responsibility to ensure women and newborns receive advanced, compassionate care close to home.
“Bowling Green is growing and thriving, and that is incredibly exciting,” said Kim Dethridge, Director of Women’s Services at Med Center Health. “We are welcoming new families, new employers, and people from all over the region. With that growth comes a responsibility to make sure healthcare capacity grows right alongside the community. Births in our region are projected to increase 18% over the next decade, and we want to be ready for families in years to come. High Street Tower gives us additional space, greater flexibility, and dedicated areas for Women’s and Children’s Services so we can continue delivering personalized, high-quality care as Bowling Green and the surrounding region grow.”
Why families across Southcentral Kentucky choose Med Center Health:
•Kentucky’s 4th Largest Obstetrics Program: Welcoming nearly 3,000 babies each year while serving families across a 12-county region.
•The region’s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): Providing the highest level of specialized care for our smallest patients.
•The region’s only Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED): For pregnancy-related emergencies when every moment matters. This department is staffed by an in-house, board-certified OBGYN 24/7.
•Labor & Delivery, Cesarean Birth, Postpartum, Antepartum/GYN, Nursery, and services: Designed for comfort, healing, and family-centered care.
Families will experience updated, welcoming spaces that support comfort, privacy, bonding, and family involvement. The High Street Tower will also offer top-of-the-line lactation support. The lactation team meets with every mother during her hospital stay to provide education, encouragement, and hands-on support, helping her and her baby get the best possible start with breastfeeding or pumping. That support continues after families go home through our outpatient Lactation Clinic, where mothers can receive additional assistance with feeding, milk supply, latching, pumping, and other concerns. Med Center Health also serves as a donor Human Milk Bank and Depot, helping patients access donor breast milk when it is medically needed. This is especially meaningful for premature, medically fragile, or high-risk newborns who may need additional nutritional support.
“This tower was designed with you and your baby at the center,” said Kim Dethridge. “Our patients will find a family-focused environment, along with an experienced team that understands how meaningful, and sometimes overwhelming, the journey into parenthood can be. Whether pregnancy and delivery are completely routine or mom and her baby need a higher level of support, families can feel confident knowing that advanced care is available here, close to home.”
