How Do I Know When My Parents Need Assisted Living? Ask Southern Kentucky Senior Living.

Several factors suggest your parents might need assisted living, including difficulty with daily living tasks, neglecting home maintenance, changes in health, and increased forgetfulness. If your parents are struggling with hygiene, forgetting to take their medications, or are isolating themselves, it’s most likely time to consider your options.  Additionally, if they are experiencing frequent falls, losing weight, or having trouble managing finances, an assisted living community could offer the assistance you need to help keep your parents safe, active and as independent as possible for as long as possible.  

It’s important to take a deeper look at your parent’s current situation and focus on signs that might normally be overlooked.

*Difficulty with Daily Tasks:

        -Daily Living tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, eating

        -Household Maintenance such as cleaning their home, doing laundry 

        -Managing Finances, paying bills on time, overspending, or scams.
