Everyday Actions that Prevent Child Abuse
It only takes one caring adult to change a child’s life.
Tragically, one in nine children will experience abuse before their 18th birthday. Behind every statistic is a child who deserves to feel safe and brave. Be the one who notices, listens, and acts. This spring, Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center is calling on our community to Spring into Action. Prevention doesn’t happen by accident; it happens when we prepare, show up, and take action together.
Spring into Action. Be the one.
Help prevent child abuse: today and every day.

Annual Great Teddy Bear Run (GTBR) is on April 25th
Each April, during Child Abuse Prevention Month, hundreds of people answer the call for awareness by supporting the Great Teddy Bear Run (GTBR). Over 500 motorcyclists ride with teddy bears across the Barren River Area to raise awareness. All bears are collected and given to children who received services after abuse.
Registration for the ride is now open! Sponsorship opportunities are available, and peer-to-peer fundraising links make it easy to get involved. Grab your bikes, your buddies, and your teddy bears – and join hundreds of supporters making a real difference in children’s lives!
