The holidays have arrived, and there’s no place in Bowling Green that captures the spirit of the season quite like The Reindeer Farm. Twinkling lights, festive music, and real reindeer create a holiday experience that feels straight out of a Christmas movie.
While the farm’s daytime fun is always a hit, December belongs to The Farm After Dark (Night Pass) – a nighttime experience that transforms the family farm into something truly enchanting. As the sun sets, thousands of lights flicker to life, pathways glow, and the familiar charm of the farm takes on a new magic. Guests can visit the reindeer barn, enjoy the petting zoo, sip hot cocoa by fire pits, or join in a snowball fight (the farm’s playful twist on dodgeball). It’s not a light display – it’s the full farm experience, reimagined under the stars.
Families visiting during the day Friday through Sunday can make the most of their trip with bundled passes, offering half-price night tickets for same-day visitors. It’s the perfect way to see the farm twice in one day – once in the daylight and again under the glow of Christmas lights.
The most anticipated weekend of the month takes place December 13-14, when world-renowned artist Danny Kissel returns for live ice sculpting. Seen on Disney+ and a two-time champion of Food Network’s Outrageous Pumpkins, Kissel transforms massive blocks of ice into breathtaking works of art right before your eyes. His performances have become a favorite farm tradition – equal parts artistry and holiday wonder.
And from December 19-23, the magic continues as Santa and Mrs. Claus visit The Reindeer Farm during the day and then again at night, December 16-18, to greet families and spread cheer. Alongside beloved characters like The Grinch, Elsa, and Anna, their appearances bring even more storybook charm to the season’s final days.
Of course, no visit would be complete without meeting the stars of the show – the reindeer themselves. Guests can still book a Reindeer Encounter + Day Pass for an unforgettable, up-close experience with these gentle, real-life icons of Christmas.
Tickets for December weekends sell quickly, and advance reservations are highly recommended at www.thereindeerfarm.com. Parking is free, and the farm is located at 2541 Old Union Church Road, Bowling Green, Kentucky.
This December, don’t just look at the lights – step into them. At The Reindeer Farm, every night shines a little brighter. NOW through December 31 (closed Christmas).
