Time to give thanks with Pappagallo

We have a woman to thank for Thanksgiving. Sarah Josepha Hale, a prominent magazine editor, persuaded President Abraham Lincoln to declare a national holiday. Hale wrote him, “It (Thanksgiving) now needs national recognition and authoritative fixation, only, to become permanently, an American custom and institution.” As the Civil War dragged on, Lincoln needed a way to unite the country. He proclaimed that Americans should observe the last Thursday of November, 1863, as a day to heal the wounds of a nation. As we celebrate Thanksgiving 162 years later, we need to once again unite and heal together.

Time for Christmas shopping at Pappagallo.

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we are thankful for. Faith, family, friends and fashion top my list.

We all want to look our best for the holiday (remember those family pictures). We also want to be comfortable for a long day of feasting. This is the time to wear the rich colors of fall – crimson, orange, chocolate brown and gold. It’s also finally “sweater weather” – a beautiful sweater paired with a dark wash jean is stylish and practical for the day.

Loungewear has been upgraded. Matching tops and bottoms in luxurious fabrics are available in several colors -Lilly Pulitzer is offering a jumpsuit in their knits.

Before you gather, check the weather with WBKO First Alert Weather.

There are many great dress options – from flirty minis to corduroy midis. All you have to do is add some boots and you are ready for turkey day.

No matter if you are attending a small, intimate family affair or a formal soirée, a new outfit will make you feel festive. We are here to help you find your best look at Pappagallo.

We are thankful for all our faithful customers who have supported us over the years.

Happy Thanksgiving!
