Yeah… I know… “Time flies when you’re having fun!” I can tell you from this year’s experience… it seems to fly even faster when you are too stressed and busy to notice how quickly it is passing. That’s been our experience this year. But that’s personal. On the SOKY Happenings business side… man, do we owe a lot of thanks to some great folks!
In case you have been living under the proverbial rock the past few years… being in the media business is changing at light speed. And being in the print media business is beyond challenging. Just ask my friends in the newspaper business all around the country who have watched their circulation percentages drop by double digits and our fellow magazine friends who can’t justify monthly issues.
I say all that to say that you, our beloved readers, have kept us hopping at SOKY Happenings. Every month our racks and stacks of magazines around town and around South Central Kentucky wind up empty. Our events calendar stays packed with events from all over the area so families can find great things to do every day. And despite all the hype about digital this and online that, our loyal sponsors continue to reap the benefits of doing business with our amazing magazine readers.
I’ve lectured so many folks on the fact that, while yes, getting info on your phone is convenient… content is still king and when you have interesting articles, art and photos that people want to consume they will take it in whatever form in which it is available. And at SOKY we have something in our pages for everyone nearly every month… month in and month out, year in and year out.
So I say all that to say… THANK YOU to you, our readers. And THANK YOU to our sponsors… without you there would be no SOKY Happenings.
