Greenville: A time to reflect and celebrate

Greenville, Kentucky, is the place to be as summer winds down and fall approaches. Whether you’re here for high-energy entertainment or meaningful reflection, our small town is big on community – and it shows in the events we host.

Squash & Gobble, The Crashers, 9/11 Tribute... Greenville Tourism.

Before we welcome fall, don’t miss The Crashers live in concert on Saturday, August 2nd, in downtown Greenville. This free event will feature one of the region’s top party bands, bringing high-energy music, food trucks, and fun for all ages.

Then as summer fades into fall, Greenville, Kentucky, embraces September with two powerful events that reflect the spirit of our community-one honoring the past, and one celebrating the present.

Honoring Heroes: 9/11 Memorial and Flag Tribute

Each year, Greenville pays tribute to the lives lost on September 11, 2001, with a solemn and moving display of patriotism. At the Summer House, just a short walk from downtown, the hillside is transformed by a field of American flags – one placed for each of the 2,977 victims lost that day. The result is a breathtaking sea of red, white, and blue that invites visitors to pause, reflect, and remember.

In the heart of downtown, visitors can also find Greenville’s 9/11 Memorial, which features a beam recovered from the World Trade Center towers. This permanent installation offers a place for reflection and serves as a lasting reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and unity that defined our nation in the face of tragedy.

Together, these tributes create a powerful space for remembrance and honor.

Squash & Gobble: September 20

Art. Music. Food. Fun. Free.

Just days after this solemn remembrance, Greenville brings the community together again with one of its most anticipated annual traditions – Squash & Gobble, happening Saturday, September 20 in downtown Greenville.

This free festival celebrates creativity and connection with:

•Art and craft vendors

•Live music throughout the day continuing into the evening

•Delicious food trucks and local flavors

•Kid zone with inflatables and activities

•Chainsaw art demonstrations

From one-of-a-kind handmade finds to street dancing and family fun, Squash & Gobble offers something for everyone – and it’s all in the heart of a charming small town.
